The Road Trip South

It seems just the other day that we sat down on the evening of the anniversary of our trek across Northern Spain in 2010 and decided to do yet another crazy adventure – The Put Foot Rally 2012. We were dubious as to whether or not we could afford the entrance fee and weren’t sure if we would have a suitable vehicle for the Rally – being broke students; but after a couple of beers, a look at the awesome official promotional video, and some reminiscing about the good old days, we decided to take the plunge. We would make up the rest as we went along. I mean, we had just under a year to plan everything, which would be more than enough time…

Well, that year has nearly passed and it seems that all those things on our ‘to do’ lists should now be done (well, that’s the theory anyway). We bought the car, harassed potential sponsors, scoured Gumtree for a tent, begged, borrowed and stole the rest. All in all, we’re ready for an adventure!!

A Massive thanks to our latest sponsors and donors for all your guys help! To Kenny and the Guys at Durban Mercedes Benz for making sure Frau is rally ready, to Helen and Helen’s gran, as well as Vision and GSP for their donations, and Chris and Anna-lee at the KZN Mercedes Benz club for their enthusiasm and support, thank you!!

This will be the last blog post pre rally. The Quarter’s will be making their way down to Caper Town on Sunday post the Top Gear Fest, celebrating Jay’s birthday in style and then making our way to the Start line on Wednesday. We’ll be posting updates on the blog and our Facebook page regularly so keep following us guys! It’ll be great to have you all along with us on our travels.

  1. Thank you for another wonderful post. Where else may anybody get that type of information in such a perfect approach of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am at the look for such info.
